At Selective Hauling, our first priority on every project is safety. Our employees are our most valuable assets. Our Safety and Health Director, Greg Albrecht, conducts safety inspections and JHA, industry-specific toolbox talks, and tool and equipment inspections at all job sites. The Safety Department also oversees both our Employee Safety Program and our Truck Maintenance Schedule.
Employee Safety
The safety of our employees is our number one priority. After completing their employee paperwork, our employees are required to complete a F.I.T. test so they can demonstrate that they’re healthy enough to work. They are equipped with the following to ensure they can complete their jobs at hand without compromising on their own safety:
- Dust Masks
- Upper Body Wear
- Gloves
- Goggles
- Hard Hats
- Steel-Toed Shoes
- Dump Trucks With Lift Gates
- Plywood
- Wooden Blocks
Safety Meetings
On top of our employees being equipped with all the necessary gear and tools needed to perform their tasks safely, we conduct safety meetings every other month to go over the material again. With consistent communication between the employees at the main office and those on the field, we have built better understanding with one another so that we can avoid any mistakes made on the field. Examples of topics that are talked about in our meetings include:
- D.O.T. Inspections
- Site safety (In general and specific sites that require more guidance)
- Truck Maintenance
- Overweight loads
- Providing excellent customer service
- Addition traffic laws/regulations that are being implemented
- Documenting any incidents to find solutions to avoid them
