When we say safety is our number one priority, we back that up with action. We implemented our safety program in 2007, led by our Safety Director Greg Albrecht. We ensure our drivers are safe and that we adhere to the highest standards of construction safety. Since then we have earned the reputation as one of the safest haulers in the DC Metro region. Chuck Green, Superintendent from Harvey-Cleary said, “They really are a Class A act in safety.”
Our safety-first program begins with each driver passing the formidable CDL process. Albrecht is a Defensive Driving Course Instructor, certified through the National Safety Council. He puts all of our drivers through the National Safety Council Defensive Driving Course for professional drivers, for Class A and B licenses.
Our drivers display their superior skills each day on the congested roads of the Washington, DC region.
Their adherence to driving and construction safety begins before they start their shift, when they inspect their vehicle according to the Driver Vehicle Inspection Ticket.
Albrecht explains, “Before every shift, at the end of every shift, they go back through that same document and recheck it off. A few marks something out of service or broken, depending on what it is, you can’t drive it, the truck is out of service.”
We are able to track our drivers’ excellent safety record through the extensive and detailed paperwork kept by our office staff.
